We were asked to produce a website that would run in tandem and promote the S4C television quiz 'Cwis meddiant', supporting and servicing any existing or potential viewers. The website is easily accessible, upbeat and plays heavily on rugby's pathos and heritage and on Gethin Jones’s easy and popular manner. In conjunction with the HTML website we devised a single player flash general knowledge quiz, that mimics the game mechanism of the programme.
The game allows the player to travel up a rugby pitch by answering multiple choice questions. The game engine was capable of recording the response times of the user. Having scored a try, players are catogorised according to their final time, their results prompted the game to issue a specific congratulatory note. If the game was completed in a fast time, the player would be invited on to the 'first team' leaderboard.
